Griet Verhoeven, the woman behind Enolah...

    The woman behind Enolah

Griet Verhoevenwas born on New Year’s Day in Neerpelt. She is the third of five children. As a child, she was a dreamer who had difficulty concentrating in the classroom. A bird on the windowsill was enough to sidetrack Griet and cause her to daydream. As a consequence, everything that she didn’t absorb in the classroom had to be studied at home. Perhaps that’s why she remained an autodidact and never stopped dreaming

    The creative process

Griet never lacks inspiration. She designs at home in her farmhouse.

The farmhouse is situated in the idyllic region of Hageland. Her atelier and showroom are also located in the farmhouse.

    Griet's passion for fashion

At the age of six, even before she could read notes, Griet was already playing the violin. She spent hours practicing in her room. Initially it seemed that her future would lie in music, but that was beyond her passion for fashion. A passion that she got from her cheerful great-grandmother, a milliner who made beautiful hats.

Griet took her first steps in the fashion world as an agent for an Italian stocking brand. At the time, she was already cutting off trousers and tying shawls at her waist. She wore hats and was completely captivated by everything related to interior and fashion.

She designed her scarves herself. After a while, her customers asked why she wasn't selling those scarves to them. That was the start of the ENOLAH Collection story. After the scarves, the first clothes followed, already in the typical colors and prints. The big breakthrough came in 2006, following a fair in Paris.
